Not that you would care...but this is the long long description of Aoshi-sama. As you already know, Aoshi's full name is Shinomori Aoshi. He makes his first appearance in the Rurouni Kenshin Manga in Volume 4 of the Tankouban. I have no studies on the Anime Episodes, so I have no idea when he appears in the anime version of Rurouni Kenshin. Upon his first appearance in Volume 4, Aoshi is one of Kanryu's [bad guy's] henchman. He is one of the top officers working under Kanryu's secret crime organization. He has 4 loyal subjects, all of which are previous members of the Oniwa Banshuu. Their names are Beshimi, Shijoku, Hannya, and Hyottoko. [I'll get pictures of them soon...] The secret crime organization captures Takani Megumi, who is a skilled doctor. Kanryu orders Hannya to capture Megumi because she was not only a doctor, but the last one with the knowledge to make opium. Kenshin progresses and defeats Kanryu's crime organization, including Aoshi. After Aoshi is defeated, Kanryu turns on Aoshi and all his men with a Gatling Gun [like a machine gun] and Aoshi's 4 loyal subjects sacrifice themselves for the life of their Okashira [leader]. Aoshi escapes with the heads of his loyal subjects, and then buries them in the mountains. He orders Kenshin to stay alive until he returns to kill him so that he can capture the title of "the strongest." Aoshi then disappears into the mountains...

Aoshi's appears later, in Volume 8 of the Manga. This was part of the Shishio Arc. Aoshi returns to find Kenshin gone from the Kamiya Dojo, off to Kyoto to find Shishio. So Aoshi sets off to Kyoto as well, to take Kenshin down. He joins forces with Shishio to take on Kenshin. In his travel to Kyoto, Kenshin meets Makimachi Misao, a member of the Kyoto Oniwa Banshuu. In the story we find out Aoshi left Kyoto for Tokyo. Misao is a 16 year old who is in love with Aoshi. Kenshin bumps into her looking for Aoshi, and offers him a place to stay. Kenshin becomes friends with the other remaining Oniwa Banshuu members. Later, Kenshin meets Aoshi again in Shishio's base. This time, Aoshi has 2 Kodachis instead of one. Kenshin notices Aoshi ahs been doing a lot of training in the mountains. They have a hard fight, but Kenshin beats Aoshi again, risking heavy injuries and his own life. After this second battle, Aoshi gets out of his "shura" [devil] state, but is paralyzed by Kenshin's attack, Hiten Mitsu Ryu Gi Ryu's Ama Kakeru Ryu no Hirameki [like ur going to understand THAT] . Kenshin then goes on to fight Seta Soujiro, and then Shishio Makoto. Kenshin's injuries take a toll, and he ends up lying on the floor. Aoshi later appears to help Kenshin out, but although he gets injured by Shishio, Kenshin gets back up and defeats him. After the battle, Aoshi returns and stays with the previous Oniwa Banshuu members...

Aoshi appears again in the Revenge Arc, helping Kenshin bring the diary of his deceased wife, Tomoe. He also finds out the death of Kamiya Kaoru was a fake, and what really "died" was a doll. He teams up with Saitou Hajime, and then secretly infiltrates the enemy base, killing everybody in sight. Aoshi also takes out Gein, the mysterious mechanical artist, who was the creator of the Kamiya Kaoru "corpse" and also the Iwanbo Series, which are a series of "dolls" capable of great damage. After Aoshi-sama infiltrates Enishi's [leader of the secret crime organization] base, Aoshi and Saitou return to Tokyo to find Kujiranami [aka whale-dude with cannon on his arm] lying on the floor due to Kenshin's Ku-Zu-Ryu-Sen. Later, the Aoshi, Saitou, and the Kenshin-Gumi along with Misao all go to rescue Kaoru. Aoshi, Saitou, Yahiko, and Sanosuke battle the "Shu-shin" [4 stars], another set of evil enemies...of course nobody was able to stand up to these people, so you can imagine what happened to them. If you can't, click here. After Kenshin dukes it out with Enishi Aoshi returns with the others as well to the Kamiya Dojo. After resting for and fulfilling his promise of drinking tea with Kenshin, he announces a departure, back to Tokyo. Misao doesn't want to leave yet, but then Aoshi brings up the dead Oniwabanshu and Misao agrees to go back to Kyoto with Aoshi happily. It's at this point of Rurouni Kenshin that Aoshi DOES actually give a little smile, which goes unseen by everyone, even Misao. After they leave for Kyoto, we hear no more of Aoshi. Then the story ends at chapter 255 of the series. I personally think the ending could use a little bit more work, and that Watsuki-sensei really rushed it. But Kenshin and Kaoru actually had a KID! But since this is the Aoshi Shrine I won't go any further... I'm getting really tired...don't wanna type anymore...I turn you back to your daily normal life that I assume you have...and if you really read down to here....wow.
